Love Triangle

This here poem is not what you think

By the title let’s all rethink

There’s a meaning behind it

This break down is the real bliss

These 3 components of love

Is what this poem consists of

I want that love, intimacy and bonding

That closeness and connectedness

The one I can kiss and hug in public yes her the one I can shine with

Her imagination to make me smile her beauty that matches my style

I crave the romance and physical attraction

Not like others, for you, sexual consummation will not just define my passion

From the beginning our short term will consist of loving each other

In the end our long term, we commit making our love stronger

Forever can be scary but with you in my corner those negative doubts are unnecessary

I’m not in search of a perfect Disney movie love match relationship

I’m looking for understanding, equally feeling companionship

Show me love like it’s just you and I in this room

Give me your love and I promise I will never turn on you

If at any giving time we lose sight

Sternberg’s Triangular Theory of Love will help us reunite

The first time I hears this poem “Phenomenal Woman” I was in the 5th grade at a school talent show. And it stuck with me until this day.

It’s in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips
I am a Woman.

More Than a Leap Year

What does Black History Month mean to you?

We can start by speaking about all the greatness in schools

Instead of limiting the education keeping our young Kings and Queens on snooze

Let them know about MLK and Malcom X, the facts and the truth

MLK taught us to forgive people like them, they, yeah you

Shot yes, suffocated not by James Earl and Ray, full of hate it was You!

Malcom X told us it’s okay to stand your ground to the mistreatment and abuse

He displayed unity and power, for you that was an issue

Rosa Parks meant every action about planting her feet

Not budging to give a white man her seat

We need to go more in depth about our culture

George Junius Stinney JR.

Who was 14, wrongly convicted by all-white jurors

We shouldn’t allow or accept what they are trying to feed us, there’s no in-between

When you ask, what Black History Month mean to me?

The fact that I’m standing here writing this is super AMAZING!

Our past has to be taught

It’s going to take more than just one month to explain why and how they fought

And our future, we have to continue holding the torch

Without hesitation we will continue this march

Because, we are still fighting for the equality, movements like Black Lives Matters

The injustice that displayed on us by Police Officers

It’s time to change this story line so we can be more at peace

This is what Black History Month mean to me

It’s You

  • Nastagia Davis

It’s you that I think about
It’s you that I get weak for
It’s you that I shout about
It’s you that I totally adore

It’s you, the reason my love grows constantly
It’s you, I start to miss as soon as you leave
It’s you, the reason MY LOVE is endlessly
It’s you, that gives me hope and makes me believe

It’s you, I see as my WIFEY my Queen
It’s you, I rather make smile without a doubt
It’s you, I want to sleep with every night and just dream
It’s you, no matter what your LOYALTY is the least I have to worry about

Dear Dad

I observe my peers, older and younger even my siblings and envy what they have, a father
Trying to understand why my father is so distance and don’t want to be bothered
Convincing myself you know maybe I’m better off the hell with him
Yet, it hurts tearing me up inside from limb to limb
Wishing I didn’t love you as much as I do
Aren’t we suppose to?
I was taught no matter what that’s blood, you have to love, don’t give up family first
What about me? My feelings do come first?
They say a father is suppose to be there through their daughters first breakup, you were my first heartbreak and never patched it up
Only if you knew- could see
There’s a pain that sits here inside my heart
I wish you were here yet we are so apart
No stepdad, uncles, or brothers can fill this void space
I just want my dad to finally step up to the plate and take his place

Naked

Your fully clothed-

nothing exposed,

not even a sign of unhappiness nothing to disclose

Your smile your laughter echoes the outside darkness and coldness of this world

With just your presences and aura, is the value beyond pearls

The freeness you wear so perfectly yet unknowingly sends amazing energy to hearts individually

There’s no more rain when you are near no more snakes when you appear

You are the sunset and sunrise of a beautiful day girl you are the one that clears paths, coming my way

We are here standing within the four walls of my comfort my number one safe place

We talk and I ask you to tell me the rest, our eyes connect, back and forth they pace our hearts begins to race

I begin to undress you your laughter is silent, I take off another your smile follows behind it

I come closer your head lowers I ask to tell me the rest you respond there’s nothing left to express

Here you stand unclothed and bothered feeling and thinking to yourself this is complete torture

Removing your hands from hiding yourself, The truth is what I begin to tell

You’re still the sunshine that brightens up the sky day and night

Your imperfections are all just right

I wouldn’t change nothing about you from your fingers to your toes from your forehead to your nose

I’m here to hold you at night when you feel like nothings going right

I’m here to kiss good morning after working up an appetite

So here I am as I place my cards in the center of your palm

All I ask is for your nakedness, and your l heart I’ll never Pawn.

Witness

I’m a witness to death, I’m a witness to them taking their last breath.
I’m a witness to shootings, I’m a witness to ducking and hidings
I’m a witness to on the run, I’m a witness to kids hitting the ground.
I’m a witness to rape, I’m a witness to being held down -growing up with rage
I’m a witness to drugs, I’m a witness to drive bys, running setting up the plugs
I’m a witness to better days, I’m a witness to the sun shinning over our heads.
I’m a witness to love oh the beauty of love, I’m a witness to the loyalty between 2 beautiful doves.
I’m a witness to marriage, I’m a witness to happily ever afters, with kids and babies in a carriage
I’m a witness to heartbreaks and empty thoughts
I’m a witness to self love that was taught.
I’m a witness to growth,I’m a witness of dedication to what matters the most
I’m a witness to confusion of sexuality, I’m a witness to double homicides and police brutality.
I’m a witness of accepting the truth, I’m a witness of the cruelty of this world
I’m a witness of standing for something and falling for nothing but
I refuse to witness myself to be let behind or put on reserved.
